Whole wheat bread is a nutritious option that can be a healthier alternative to white bread. It is made primarily from whole wheat flour, which retains more nutrients and fiber.

1. Primary ingredient: Look for whole wheat flour (atta) listed as the first ingredient. It should comprise at least 75% of the total ingredients to ensure you are getting true whole wheat bread.
2. Sugar: Opt for breads that do not have any high fructose corn syrup and are low on sugar in general.
3. Oils: Avoid breads that contain partially hydrogenated oils, which are sources of unhealthy trans fats.
4. Additives: Choose breads that do not use artificial flavors, colours, or preservatives such as BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) - INS320, BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) - INS321, and TBHQ (tert-butylhydroquinone) - INS319.
Select whole wheat bread that primarily contains whole wheat flour—at least 75%. Avoid products with high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, and artificial additives for a healthier choice.
